Remotox® is a calcium polysulfide liquid solution with a typical pH of 11.5. The solution is deep yellow-red in color and may have a slight rotten egg odor. Typical weight of the solution is 10.6 pounds per U.S. gallon (1.27 gm/cc). Solution concentrations range from 29 to 34% strength by weight. Remotox does not contain dithiocarbamate or its related salts.
This product is not regulated by the DOT. Solutions of Remotox® are considered stable in normal transportation. REMOTOX is readily available in pails, drums and IBC totes as well as in bulk tank truckloads. When containers are tightly sealed and stored at moderate temperature, Remotox has been tested to maintain its effectiveness for a minimum of one (1) year.
Remotox® is corrosive due to its caustic nature. Workers are advised to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to avoid exposure to the skin and eyes. Take any precaution to avoid mixing with combustibles, acids, oxidizers. For further details, please refer to the Safety Data Sheet.
Materials of construction suitable for storing Remotox® include stainless steel, fiberglass, high density polyethylene and polypropylene, ABS, PVC, Teflon.
